If he’d been asking about tacho rules or something similarly complicated then fair enough but not knowing speed limits is just… embarrassing,really. It’s on the same sort of level as jumping in a truck and then asking what each of the 3 pedals does.

Ime on Robs side , there is a clue in the initial question ffs.So why all the talk about d/c ways,cental divides with a privvet hedge ,on a MOTORWAY its 60 mph .
Suggest you read your reply again, not all sections of all motorways are 60. Try M62/A1M junction, 50mph.

I have had my class c for 3 years and my class c + e for 1, I have never got any points and like the idea of having a clean licence and I have never had a RTA.

Does the speed limit go up to 70mph for lorries on a 4 lane stretch? I know it will only be the irish who would actually be able to do that speed but sometimes I can reach that speed when fully loaded and going down a big hill

By the way if you exchange your driving license here, nobody ask if you know the Highway Code!
Even what is Basic knowledge for you, can be a question for somebody else, if you think it’s to stupid for your level, don’t read and don’t react

Ok that sounds like a go at me (since I’m the only one to mention hedges), but when I read the OP’s question I thought he had a misunderstanding about the definiton of a dual carriageway, so I gave an answer that I thought appropriate.
From this post I think you have some issues with the original question, in which case if you have nothing constructive to say then the best thing would be to say nothing.
