Cheers for the info about the UK side of Curries Captain.

Quite surprising really - guess I always thought Curries had a lot of high-value loads given the number of boxvans they run. Kind of thought they were full of whisky or something!

Was there much rivalry between them and Barbours on the European work? I know both sets of drivers had a bit of a ‘reputation’ :smiley:

during my time on european 1979-1995 curries carried verry little whisky, i only did one load to austria. the vans carried computers, first digital from ayr, then ncr from dundee, and later compaq from erskine. in the early days there would have been about 10-15 trucks going to amsterdam and the same to frankfurt every sunday. plus a few to munich,paris milan,then later scandinavia, curries even took some loads to moskow, but i wasnt one who volunteered to go.to russia.

Where was the furtherest place Curries delivered to?

Bill delivered some books to me the other week in Kanchanaburi, Thailand…oops! sorry, he’d left Curries by then.
Trust you got back safely to Scotland last week.
