“risking lives”, a charity has said. WTF is it to do with them ? its a police matter.

14,000 People speeding in 6 months how many of them was in a accident because of the speed they was going in the road works ? I’d say under 10

Speed kills

I would love to know what it has to do with a charity. I love it when I hear “road safety charity BRAKE said” etc etc. Who appointed this organisation as a mouthpiece for society?

I remember the incident which prompted the founder to set up her “charity”. What would she have done if it had been a plane crash, campaigned for slower aircraft?

BRAKE and the like are not about road safety. There are about influence and self-importance.

Bullcrap Road Agency Knowing Everything.

I remember the incident which prompted the founder to set up her “charity”. Apparently the Lady who runs BRAKE is actually addicted to Brake fluid, when asked, she said “Im not bothered I can stop anytime” :stuck_out_tongue:

the bouncing wheel off the lorry? 1995 ish :sunglasses: if memory serves me correct :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: crashes happen, people die! it’s like guns! Do they kill people? :sunglasses: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:

Exactly. I don’t see why some people feel that their loss is more important than someone else’s. It shows how little we really have to moan about, given the daily (intentional) slaughter in other parts of the world. Who was the other woman who got herself onto the board of a concrete manufacturer because a relative of hers didn’t have the sense to stay away from a vehicle that was always going to come off better?

These people don’t accomplish anything other than making life more difficult for people doing an honest job and being contributing members of society. They don’t have the moral courage to address the real problems, so they (as always) go for the easiest target.

Not really those that can do!

The rest sit a tut and wish they had the balls.

Anything over 100 mph used to be an automatic ban if I remember is that still the case ?

I’m not 100% sure but I believe the courts will generally impose a 28 day ban regardless of what you do for a living.

This was true in 1994, I got two months for 139.7mph.

I was on the brakes when they zapped me as I’d seen a jam sandwich on the hard shoulder down the road (didn’t see the unmarked one I passed though) copper asked what speed I was doing before hitting the brakes.

139.8mph was my reply.

Got a 1200 quid fine as well…

I did 137 in the roadworks on the M25 yesterday, so what?

OK that was 137 yards in about 30 minutes, does that count!

Not a single person in the history of all humanity has died from going too fast. It’s the stopping too quickly that kills them. Maybe we should ban going slow!

Yeah look at Senna it was the quick stop that done him.

Should be £60 for going over 55 and £100 for going under 49.

Should be £500 fine for driving a DAFt
