just for the record,lawsons went under thanks to a certain big administrator selling the company to asset strippers who sunk the company and its assests,and put 600+ people on the dole.at that time,the company was in profit,and not owned by richard lawson,having previously sold it in the early 90"s to wallenius wallheimsen. 
The problem with the Toleman 12 car was, thats all it would carry 12 cars, as soon as they started building people carriers and taller cars it was good for nothing. I had 6 good years at R Lawsons in the early 90’s

I too was one of the unlucky one’s who got made redundant back in 2005 after being with them for 5 years !! It was a shame they went bust at a time when the buisness was doing well! Bad management…

hi drive 2008,i worked for them from 1999 to the end,based at immingham.still based kirriemuir/perth ,we will be back to 400+ trucks one day 
.a lot of us are still outbased like the old days,im based at teesport,but there are trucks all over uk from southhampton to kirriemuir.
The Spirt Daf… my younger Brother was driving one of those, had it from new, he finished in Jan i think.

I used to run out of Honda Swindon it was a good job I lived locally so no night outs used to start at 5 do 2 runs to Southampton and was home by 3.30 -4 everyday it was great ! Sometimes had a return renault load but was good money…
I can remember towards the end them stopping all the fuel cards and not knowing if we would have enough fuel to run back then they stopped the pay it was so badly managed, got quite a good pay out in the end though considering it went belly up…Then we became Autocare for a short while and then it went bust. I am still in Honda, been tramping since Christmas when they shutdown and did lots of work out of Corby, but am now back doing Hondas 3 loads a day now so not home till about 7 that’s if I get home and nights out now for not much more money than I was on with Lawson’s. But I know many transporter drivers that were made redundant this past year so still count myself lucky to be in a job

ha ha ha ha 8 wheels,you wanna try delivering them to the scottish dealerships who insist its an “english” flag,and to take it back and bring one with the scottish only flag.i had to deliver this one “out of hours” to galashiels who were adamant they werent having it.
