When multi-manning you must have a 9 hour daily rest period completed within 30 hours from the start of the shift.
A driver can be on his own for the first hour of multi-manning but after that there must be at-least two drivers in the vehicle to do the driving during each driving period.
If the vehicle is fitted with a digital tachograph the driver who’s sat in the passenger seat should have his card in slot 2.
Because slot 2 cannot be put on break while the vehicle is moving (it changes to POA) the first 45 minutes of POA will count as break.
The maximum driving time for a two-man crew taking advantage of this concession is 20 hours before a daily rest is required (although only if both drivers are entitled to drive 10 hours).

I only found out the other day that you can swap the cards without pressing the end country button…
