Seems a bit pointless lately, apart from the usual how do i become an owner driver posts there hasnt been anything on here that couldnt really be answered on the main forum

I was going to comment on your situation ,it’s one I’ve seen evolving over all the yrs I’ve been in business ,fortunately iam very lucky and iam in charge of my own destiny ,round here there are many who will end up like you and some that have already have others have diversified into ex works products stone and farm feeds ect .

That must be where im going wrong.
I must admit to browsing a few groups over the week but in a age where everythings “on the social” im a complete ghost.
some of us cannot stand the misery that face book and the like bring to a lot of people, I have not joined and will not in the future, if this forum fails to the likes of face book a lot of useful information will be lost, this type of forum promotes the ask any question theory, some answers may be questionable but in the main people who do not know or are unsure get creditable answers. And where else would I go to reminisce the good times I had which way outnumbered the bad.

Still think this forum’s a useful source of information and a priceless guide to those starting out.

I am on Facebook, it’s a great way to keep up with friends when I’m away and people I’ve met and worked with over the years, but it’s not a great place for serious advice.
I did join a truck driver group for a short while, almost every post ended up in a massive argument, which is basically what would happen on the PDF here, if you didn’t have some sort of moderation.
I have noticed that this and the Euro forum aren’t well supported, maybe not so many with businesses log in these days and not so many of us go over the water. But I think they’re still useful, a relevant question for here or the Euro forum could get lost quickly in the PDF or just end up filled with garbage, in the specialist forums they’re likely to be viewed and although they might not get many replies, the ones they do receive should hopefully be informative.

I have to agree But its just following the course of the industry in general.

Regardless this is still an excellent forum. People that have been on it longer may feel it gets a bit repetitive but it keeps us all up to date with whats generally happening in the industry & you can get questions answered if your not quite sure about it.
Yes there a few complete bell ends on here who just seem to come on to noise others up but just let them stroll on…

I pop in to see some interesting discussions ,It is the best hgv forum online ,With plenty of good members .And Is better than farcebook .
It’s up to the users to make it what they want it to be.
I think part of it being quiet is that if you have experienced hauliers, which there are, then they are going to have encountered a lot and whilst they may have problems, they know how to deal with things.
Most of the issues I face are too specialist unless you deal with my particular field.
