Brilliant
You shop, we drop…your wall
Can happen to anybody.A momentary lapse of concentration in a tight place.
Years ago you might do something clottish like that and unless really unlucky no pics would appear, nowadays however every mistake gets viewed by all.
Trailer locked up and slid sideways?, no one could possibly misjudge a turn that much shirley?, must have started to mount the wall just behind the landing legs.
didn’t see that on telly last night, his load might get rejected if he doesn’t get there on time.
Brilliant piece of driving, how would you swap your trailer if your landing legs were jammed
That’s a bad misjudgment maybe he was lost or missed his intended turning, where is it by the way ?

That looks like more than a momentary lapse of concentration. Severe error of judgement more like.

Now I’ve seen the big picture I agree,it wasn’t a lapse of concentration.Just a ■■■■ up !!!

It seems the hazard lights are flashing,by the still shot in the photo, the road is blocked for all to see,no need for hazard lights.
And them boy’s are going to drive car transporters ?

Nope, which is probably just as well.

Oh yes they are. They recently purchased a car transporter company. Can’t remember their name off the top of my head.

Yes i know that, but we appear to be at cross purposes, don’t think for one second that the geezer who stuffed the Tesco trailer up the wall will be allowed anywhere within a mile of a transporter, Stobarts didn’t get as big as they are now by such foolery.
The only blokes driving the transporters will be proper transporter drivers…daresay it will be possible to transfer to the transporters from the general haulage side though for those up to it, good luck to those who do, a big step up the work and pay ladder.
I reckon the autoloic drivers will get hit with the same contract as everyone else 7odd quid an hour!! The only difference will be some sort of bonus like the walking floor drivers get.
Hi Juddian,
You know yourself many of them will live the dream but when it comes to the job and doing it only 1 or 2 in 10 will be able to do it , the rest will want the big fh back …

Doubt it, but interesting times ahead.
There’s a shortage of competent transporter drivers anyway, and those still doing it are not getting any younger (how many under 40’s do you see driving transporters?), its skilled work and ten times harder than normal RDC style transport and the ONLY reason blokes do it is the money.
Take away the money and the blokes will vanish overnight, plenty of good employers glad to give them jobs (5 ex transporter drivers where i work), you can’t stick any clown in a transporter, well you can if you want the roads littered with rolled trucks and storage compounds stuffed to the gills with damaged cars.
Attn Daveymk…yep i bet lots of the blokes are thinking of possible transfers and good luck to 'em, its a whole different ball game though, agree with your figures, one in ten ish.
No HGV driver in his right mind in an artic would try this left turn heading west off the A62 at the top of Wall Hill Dobcross Saddleworth!
The driver had already passed two major turnings to Greenfield off the A62 (the A670 at Diggle and the A6052 at Delph) why pick the third one, a reverse fork, round an inaccessible corner the mind boggles you just would not attempt it.
This was the scene on Friday morning 28/9/12 after it obviously was unable to negotiate the sharp fork turn. Recovery teams arrived at the scene and with the help of a digger and a large tow truck it was eventually freed.
Some damage was caused to a speed sign, dry stone wall, a bollard, as well as some damage to the trailer.

Junction of Wall Hill Road and Huddersfield Road between Delph and Scouthead on the A62
(Obviously in the location picture above he was coming towards the photographer from Huddersfield before making the left turn)
