Had a bad day 17/5/12 accident caught on roadhawk

Was having a bad day on wednesday & was thinking things couldn’t get much worse, how wrong was I? :frowning: :frowning: :open_mouth:
Damaged drivers steps & bumper on my truck, car came off worse as I managed to smash his rear n/s door & rear wing & split his alloy wheel open. Guy got out & said he didn’t know the area as if that makes it all ok, then told me he was looking at his satnav & realised he needed the exit. What a complete tool :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :unamused:

assuming that the indicator I could hear was for a right turn and not a left, looks like you are well cleared.

Worth having that installed mate
Did the rep try denying it ?

Yes I was indicating right but the guy said I wasn’t indicating & that he thought I was taking the same exit as him. Changed his tune once I told him I had roadhawk

■■■■ straight, it did sound like he was trying to blame me at first until i told him it was all on film

ha,ha, i bet he did.
proves he tried pulling a stupid move, can’t believe he thought he’d really get round you there.

Ho ho that ■■■■■■ him then !! No whiplash claim !!

Glad to see another idiot car driver wont be getting away with that sort of driving that he once would of.

Bloody hell, puts you well and truly in the clear.
That settles it,I’m getting one of those…Have you tried it at night Tyler?

Certainly looks like the car was in the wrong for that erratic manoeuvre but it does make me think the way I was taught to drive was maybe better than the modern thinking.

Turning Left or Straight on - Left Lane.

Anything after 12 o clock use Right Lane until you pass the exit before yours.

It has been debated many times.

Good video but it doesn’t quite show all the road, although it does show both lanes marked for a right turn, so you have nothing to worry about :stuck_out_tongue:

That wouldn’t be the Illminster roundabout would it?

Yes I have used it at night, if your in an unlit area its a bit dark but you can still see enough to cover yourself in the event of an accident. If there are street lights about it works very well. £200 well spent as far as I’m concerned. Don’t drive anywhere without it now

That’s how I’ve always seen it but after having the must beat the truck brigade undertaking me on this roundabout I find it easier to stay on outside of roundabout. It is a strange roundabout as both lanes are marked right unlike most roundabouts of this size. Because they are both marked right I was ok to go right in that lane. Even the copper that pulled up said i was in the right.

Looking at that, it was a single lane exit, so wouldn’t have mattered if you was taking the same exit.

The lane you approached the roundabout off had straight AND right road markings, so he was clearly in a right only lane, the ■■■■■■■ numpty.

I took out a Picasso a couple of years ago because they didn’t read the road markings and tried to shove my truck out of the way, massive gap in front and behind me, but they decided that it’d be easier just to move the 44t with the side of their car :unamused: Took the driver for a walk back around the roundabout to show them what the little white lines and arrows mean :smiling_imp:

It was plain to see the twonk was a typical BMW driver, serves him right if he gets a big fine … and hung upside down by his testicles.

Tyler! Nice one mate and I’m getting a road hawk aswell! I’ve had motorcycles do the same thing twice on that M25/A13 doughnut and I would have given the footage to Essex plod even if there was no collision! :open_mouth:

I would love to have been there when he found out about the camera footage! The driver needs banning! What a tool! :grimacing:

Was a Vauxhall actually! Nearly right though.

just had a quick look on the roadhawk website, seems a very impressive bit of kit.
based on the world we live in today, and how much we are governed and the costs involved in insurance claims, i’m surprised these cameras aren’t in most trucks on the road.
anyone know if any big fleets use, or have trialed them■■?

Well worth the money  Ive had mine for about 2 years never once needed to use it for anything. Its just sits all day recoding away giving me peace of mind :grimacing:
