Can someone please shed some light on the reason why I am noticing a lot of DHL units ( seems to be yellow only ) with a large white arrow , pointing skywards , on the N/S front of the grille

Ha shade I’ve seen loads too but this morning noticed that they were a split board like a haz sticker in half and the White 'stick! Under is there just to keep it open! ;D

i beg to differ 
every truck at our depot (Stanton) and Thetford have got them! Its for a job we have carrying aerosols, apparently (iirc) anything over 12 tons has to display boards. we have stickers for the trailer and we have the actual symbol as a metal plate on front of the grill folded in half, (closed position,) hence they look like an arrow pointing upwards. If i remember tomorrow i will take a pic of it closed and open, that will probably explain it better… 
I covered the front of mine with black gaffa tape so you cant really notice it if you drive past me, a few others have done the same as me.
i havent even opened mine since it was fitted as i havent done one of the loads.
