A day in the life of a tyre fitter

Here are some photos that have come to light of my friend Rob Holmes a tyre fitter from near where i live . The accident took place on the M25 near junction 17 . Rob suffered many injurys and so did his van !

Rob just recently has been involved in his second " ■■■■■■■■ on the motorway" where he has suffered severe head injurys and a badly damaged right eye .

Christ :open_mouth:

Your mate should get a new job :exclamation: Glad that he is still your mate

Rob just recently has been involved in his second " [zb] on the motorway" where he has suffered severe head injurys and a badly damaged right eye .

Having to work on the hard shoulder must be the worst place in the World, I hope he get’s better soon.

But are you sure the first accident was 1997 as the van is a 54 plate?

We cant, we can tell someone that it’s illegal to stop on the hard shoulder unless it’s an emergency and ask them to move but we cant order them to move.

Lots of our euro cousins are now doing this on M25 regardless of risks involved, they run out of hrs due to congestion & rather than risk a big fine back home sometime over the next 12 month ( digi card) they take a break on HS

Perhaps when they have finished widening the north west side of the M25 they will make the area that has been the site compound into a lorry park. It may help to reduce the number of lorries parked on HS and slip roads.

I remember seeing Rob’s first one on M1 N/B J11-12.I was driving South and remember seeing all the smoke and dust and thinking that looks bad.Im sure that was a foreign truck too.
I was on duty for his M25 crash and was sent to close M40 slip onto M25.We then went to back of tailback because car drivers were turning round and running along the M25 in the wrong direction.I dont think hato can be blamed for asking a driver to move from an illegal parking place.Did driver definately fall asleep causing him to hit the ATS van?
A good example as to why a lot of drivers move into lane 2,or at least as far over as possible when vehicles are on the hard shoulder.Something i am very grateful to and always acknowledge.
I believe ATS will not do offside truck/coach tyre changes without hato presence, but unfortunately the M25 was a nearside wheel.
I think we have a good relationship with ATS as they do all hato tyres  Lets hope Rob has had more than his share of incidents.
