11-13/05/18 m1 closure j23a & 24 both ways

FULL CLOSURE OF THE M1 BETWEEN JUNCTION 23A AND JUNCTION 24 IN BOTH DIRECTIONS

The M1 will be closing in both directions from 22:00 hours, Friday 11th May and will remain closed until 15:00 hours, Sunday 13th May.

The closure will be in place whilst a new bridge is lifted over the M1 between J23a and J24.

The alternative diversion will be signed along the A453 from the M1 and A42 (J23a) to the M1 (J24).

On behalf of Highways England, Leicestershire County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused during these works.

I’m sure with it being planned out so far in advance that the police, Highways Agency and local authorities will have all consulted with each other to ensure that disruption is kept a minimum… you know, like switching off the traffic lights at J24 rbt so that the queues do not stretch back to Nottingham and Leicester respectively?
