That would never work on an artic because tractor units have become much taller than in the past.
I think the present height of a modern tractor unit is probably due to the regulations regarding minimum cab heights and the distance that a driver needs to be from the steering wheel when on a rest break.

That’s rubbish - you’ve got to be in the passenger seat if you are on break - I though everyone knew that

Is that the same rule that state that you should be able to stand straight up while putting your boxers on■■? 
And that the space beside the bed must have space for a kitchen roll if you do more than 5 nights out??
(where can you wipe it else after a chocky?)
